Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her the city she grew up in after her birthplace. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's dad was born into a Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are her half-siblings. In the year Ryder was just seven years old, her family moved to Mendocino County California. They lived in a place without electric power. Television books were the only way for Ryder to spend the time and she became an avid reader. In 1983 when she was 12 Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986, she got her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. Her professional acting, she believed to help, could have helped her. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. But that didn't stop her making plans for her future. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big breakthrough. Ryder had a successful role in numerous films. In 1993 she received two nominations for Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part in The Age of Innocence.
